Overview
The Rift Valley was created as a result of prior tectonic faulting, warping, and volcanic eruptions, which produced Lake Bogoria. Fumaroles, hot springs, and geysers are all examples of the lake's geologic expressions of ongoing volcanic processes, as are the lakeshores and numerous locations around.
The Solai-Subukia fault block, which also contains the Solai, Iguamiti, and South Arabel fault scarps, is one of the main block-defining faults in the Rift Valley and runs along which the lake is situated. The Kisanana- Chemasa-Emsos fault, which merges into the Lake fault along the Emsos fault structure near Sirken Hill, partially separates the Lake from this main fault block.
